Kids are generally known to be picky eaters. It could often be tricky to cook something they would actually enjoy. The best bet is to experiment with easy dinner recipes that are a creative combination of the ingredients they most commonly love.

Here are three dinner recipes for kids that they will absolutely love –

Pepper pizza

  • Mixed bell peppers (sliced in halves)
  • 1 cup of pizza sauce
  • ½ cup of sweet corn
  • ½ cup of thinly sliced babycorn
  • 1 cup of grated processed cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • Grease the peppers with some butter and sprinkle a pinch of salt and black pepper on it.
  • Add a spoonful of pizza sauce, veggies and grated cheese onto that. Sprinkle some salt and black pepper again.
  • Place the peppers in a pre-heated oven and bake it till the cheese melts and binds with the pepper.
  • Serve it piping hot with a sprinkle of fresh coriander leaves.

Sweet Corn Dhokla

  • 1 cup of semolina/rava
  • 1 cup of crushed sweet corn
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp of mustard seeds and sesame seeds
  • 3-4 curry leaves
  • 1 tsp of red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp of Eno fruit salt
  • 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • ½ cup of water
  • Salt to taste


  • Take a mixing bowl and add rava, yogurt and water to it. Mix it well and set it aside for half an hour.
  • After that, add salt as per taste, crushed sweet corn and Eno fruit salt to it and mix it to a fine and smooth consistency. Add more water if needed.
  • Grease a deep dish with oil and pour this batter into it till it reaches its brim. Steam it over boiling water for 15-17 minutes.
  • To prepare the tadka, take a small pan and add oil, mustard seeds, sesame seeds, curry leaves and red chilli to it. Once the ingredients start crackling, pour it onto the steamed dhokla and smear it across evenly.
  • Cut the dhokla into small pieces and serve it hot with mint or tamarind chutney.

Fluffy Bread Toast

  • ½ cup gram flour
  • 3 slices of wheat bread
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1 finely chopped tomato
  • 1 cup of coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp of plain yogurt
  • ½ cup of water
  • Salt to taste


  • Take a mixing bowl and add the gram flour, onion, tomato, coriander leaves, yogurt, salt and water to it. Mix it well and set it aside.
  • Apply this batter on each slice of bread.
  • Heat some oil on a flat pan and place this bread slice on it in a way that the batter side of it faces the pan. Allow it to cook for 1-2 minutes till the batter fluffs up and then flip it over. Cook the other side for a minute too.
  • Repeat the same steps and prepare each battered bread slice.
  • Serve it hot with tomato ketchup.
