Crispy Sesame Spinach Burger

Crispy Sesame Spinach Burger Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of chopped spinach
  • 1 cup of finely chopped onions
  • 2 cups of breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup of grated mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsp plain flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • Salt as required

Method:

  • Shallow-fry the onions in a pan. Set it aside and allow to cool down.
  • Grind the chopped spinach in a food processor and put it in a mixing bowl. To this, add fried onions, breadcrumbs, sesame seeds, cheese, nutmeg and a pinch of salt. Mix all the ingredients together and continue mixing the beaten eggs bit by bit.
  • Once the ingredients are mixed together, use your palms to make the patty by coating your palms with some plain flour and using this mixture to form the patties. Prepare 6-7 burger patties using this mixture.
  • Heat some oil in a pan and deep-fry each patty until it turns golden brown.
  • Serve these crispy patties between your choice of toasted burger buns, a few slices of tomatoes, lettuce, ketchup and fries on the side.

Bombay Masala Burger Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of mashed potatoes
  • 2 tsp of red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 ½ tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • ¼ cup of chopped cucumber
  • ¼ cup of chopped tomatoes
  • ¼ cup of chopped onions
  • ¼ cup of chopped coriander
  • 2 tsp green chutney
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • Salt as required

Method:

  • Take a mixing bowl and add mashed potatoes, chopped coriander, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt. Mix all the ingredients together and shape them into patties.
  • Dip each patty into beaten eggs and then coat them with breadcrumbs.
  • Heat some oil in a pan and deep-fry each patty until it turns golden brown. Set it aside.
  • In another mixing bowl, mix cucumber, tomatoes, onions, green chutney and a pinch of salt, and keep it aside.
  • Place each patty on your choice of toasted burger bun, add a spoonful of the vegetable mixture, a few lettuce leaves, ketchup and potato chips on the side.

P.S. Add an interesting twist to this recipe by adding a spoonful of raita between the burger buns.

Black Bean Quinoa Burger

Black Bean Quinoa Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of soaked black beans
  • ½ cup of uncooked quinoa 
  • ¼ cup of chopped spring onion whites
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp of chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp red chilli and cumin powder
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • Salt as required

Method:

  • Bake the soaked black beans in a preheated oven for 10 minutes. Allow it to cool down, pulse it in a grinder and set it aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a small saucepan and add the garlic cloves and spring onion whites. Cook for about 2-3 minutes till the onions turn tender and then add the quinoa. Lightly toast the quinoa for a couple of minutes, then add a cup of water and bring it to a boil. Simmer until the water is completely absorbed.
  • Mix the black beans, quinoa, cumin powder, red chilli powder and salt together and shape the mixture into individual patties.
  • Dip each patty into beaten eggs and then coat them with breadcrumbs.
  • Heat some oil in a pan and deep-fry each patty until it turns golden brown. Set it aside.
  • Place each patty on your choice of toasted burger bun, a few slices of tomatoes, avocado, mustard sauce, lettuce and sprout salad on the side.
